PiSAT Solar is not your typical company. At PiSAT, we are dedicated to developing only energy-efficient, renewable technologies, and using those technologies to make only the highest quality lighting products available.
The PiSAT philosophy of business emphasizes the “triple bottom line”–economic viability, environmental accountability and social responsibility. Our products are designed to work as promised and built to last, as well as to reduce the environmental footprint and improve the lives of others in the Third World. Our Light for Africa program replaces dangerous kerosene lanterns with a healthy, safe, economical alternative. The K-Light will last for years with no pollution and no added cost for fuel.
At PiSAT, we’re changing your world, and ours, for the better. Check us out.
PiSAT was founded in 2005 by four individuals who share a common passion for improving the quality of life in the world's most challenging environments. Today's PiSAT organization reflects the founders' commitment to creating renewable energy technologies capable of bringing new hope and new opportunities to individuals, communities and our planet as a whole.
William Greenhoe has more than 10 years experience in innovative energy product development. Prior to joining PiSAT, he served 7 years as vice-president of operations for Harding Energy. During his tenure, he directed the writing and implementation of the company’s manufacturing procedures, increasing production efficiency from 60% to 95%. Greenhoe also designed new cells and modifications to enhance the performance of batteries and coordinated a China-based team to develop new products. Additionally, he spearheaded a federally funded joint-grant with Ames Laboratories and Iowa State University to research the particle size of hydrogen storage alloys. Greenhoe received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan.
