PiSAT Solar is working with a non-profit organization called The Kopernik located in New York.  They have connections with many NGO’s located all over the worldand are currently accepting donations for 3 projects that would provide K-Light Solar Lanterns to Kenya and Nigeria. www.thekopernik.org

An additional 300 K-lights are currently on their way to Haiti.  The First United Methodist Church of Coral Gables, Florida plans to distribute them in Haiti along with 300 tents.

500 K-Light Solar Lanterns are on their way to Haiti.  Many thanks to Gary Cross of Custom Creation (www.customcreation.com) for coordinating the logistics. Harvest International, Inc. (www.harvestinternational.org) will be getting the lanterns into Haiti and their missionary will take care of distributing the lanterns.  The plan is that they will be given to people in a tent camp in Les Cayes which is about 120 miles west of Port au Prince.

PiSAT Solar is working with a previous customer who loves his lantern and the Koinonia Foundation.  We are working together to ship and donate 500 lanterns to Haiti.  We are running into some troubles actually getting the lanterns from the U.S. mainland to Haiti to be distributed.  If you have any information that may help us out in this regard please contact us via email at info@pisatsolar.com.

PiSAT Solar is planning on exhibiting at the Outdoor Retailer Show in Jan. 2010.  We will be rolling out several new accessories for the K-Light at the show.  They include a K-Light AC Charger, Cell Phone Charger, and Y Splitter.  The AC Charger will allow the user to charge their K-Light from a normal household electrical outlet.  The Cell Phone Charger is capable of charging cell phones that charge via a mini USB port.  The Y Splitter makes it possible to charge your K-Light with two solar panels to dramatically decrease the time it takes to charge the K-light.
